About BoneBot and Rules in the Room

Sat Jun 10, 2006, 8:49 AM
BoneBot is a bot owned by =DryBones90 and hosted by =djthyrax
BoneBot is not a toy, despite us sometimes using him for a little fun, he's mostly made so that if you happen to be in the chatroom and need minor help with something, he can calculate number problems, play a few little fun games, leave notes to another user within the channel (meaning the notes will not be sent to anyone's Message Centre), show when you're away and back, and even define words like a dictionary.
Now, while some of these functions are fun, spamming my bot with un-neccesary amounts of gibberish (example would be repeating a function until it fills up the page) will result in a warning or two, and a kick should you not listen to me or the other Ops the first time.
A few simple rules we shouldn't have a problem with:

:bulletgreen:Spamming:bulletgreen:
:bulletred: No spamming please, I would love to see a thumb from your gallery, just don't post it more than 3 times (personal emotes are more flexible to this rule than full-canvas art or photography)
I'm not being uptight, I too have been kicked for what I thought wasn't spamming but really was once before in another channel. Thumbs are nice in the conversation, but what you think isn't annoying or cute could actually be quite frustrating or bothersome to the others in the channel

:bulletgreen:Profanity:bulletgreen:
:bulletred: Profanity is to be kept at a minimum at the very most; just so we're clear that means:
no excessive curse words
no profane insults (even if you think its funny)
no rude comments (example:'bite my ass' is considered a rude comment)
no slang terms to anything morbidly violent or extreme graphic material
yes excessive BoneBot "yank"ing is considered spam; even if you see an Op or I "yank" someone its usually just meant as a joke or example;

:bulletgreen:ASL:bulletgreen:
don't ask for ASL (age, sex, location) or ask to meet in real life (outside the net) an exception would be the Ops and I having a conversation about something local or me asking a local friend I already know if they wanna hang out sometime. I will not be held responsible if you give out or recieve any information over the internet such as:
:bulletblue:multiple account usernames
:bulletblue:passwords
:bulletblue:scams
If I catch anyone giving away information in that form you will be immediatly kicked.

Also, no prejudice, including racial, religious, and cultural remarks or insults.

:icondrybones90:
the rooms in the dAmn part of dA are called channels; a bot is a php-controlled user in the chat room that has an account on dA; my channel is used for general discussion, so I put some rules in ~BoneBot's journal; he can perform certain functions in my channel
example:
%fortune will make him give you a 'fortune cookie'
